If you have a set of furniture it will give life to your home. No house without it because furniture help your house to look beautiful inside. The recommendation is for you to maintain its good condition so that it has a long lifespan.
-If scratches is visible on the surface you may use iodine. This is very helpful during retouching the surface. Toothpick and cotton are needed for the iodine to absorb, then apply. Using shoe polish with light color will do. If those scratches is deeper, varnishes and paints will be used.
-Holes that resulted from sharp object accidentally punctured or cigarette from smokers need to be restored by using wood filler. You can buy it from hardware. After filling the hole, apply shellac or varnish. Use linseed oil by rubbing it smoothly to return to its original form.
-To those drawers that are hard to open is to wipe off the dust that embedded to it and use dry cleaning liquid. Then do the rubbing of the wax candle to make it slippery.

-Use knife to scrapped off the varnish. Magazines is useful to wipe remaining chemicals in the surface. Yo keep it clean, use detergent powders. Wash it with water then let it dry.
-In doing the finishing process, remove the old finish. It must be clean in preparation to the application of the varnish. Coat it with varnish and let it dry. Rub with paste of pumice to the surface. Any slippage can be remove by using denatured alcohol. Do the final coating. You can apply it repeatedly until you are satisfied. After it has been dried, use a soft cloth to have an even coating on the surface.
-In using varnish, apply the surface thinly. Let it dry overnight. If you intend not to remove the old finish, do by repairing the holes, dent surface and loose joints but thus highly affected only. Keep it clean by sanding. Remove all dirt that are visible. Varnishing will follow. Apply first the base of the furniture with the needed coating. Glaze can be applied by the use of sponge or cloth. Any excess should be remove and then you have to do the final application of varnish.
-In re-varnishing a good condition furniture because it is already faded then do the new varnish application. Repair first the surface. Any loose parts should be screwed using glue if needed to sealed any loose connection. Use sandpaper to old finish. Turpentine can do the removing. Clean the surface again from dirt before the application of the varnish. The new application can brighten the newly varnish furniture.

The newly image will depend on how you reconstructed it. Any failure will give your furniture lesser effect. If not done well the duration of the retouching is only short and after a while you have to re-varnish again which is time consuming.
