For those that do not have a lot of money decorating can be challenging. Often times one can spend hours reading different articles trying to find something they can actually do. Either that or trying to find something that will actually look good when the project is completed. I spent hours on top of hours trying to find ways to decorate my home. In the end though I came up with my own ideas. In this article I would like to share with you one of those ideas. If you are in need of end tables this article is for you.
Everyone has seen those cheap round tables you can find in local stores. The ones with the glass top and table cloth. They are a cheap and easy way to add an end table anywhere in your home. Although cheap everyone at first glance knows exactly whats under that table cloth. In some instances the cost of the table can add up by the time you buy the table, glass top, and table cloth. I have been able to find these items at target for around five bucks a pop on sale. So total cost would run around the $15-$20 dollar range on average. The problem is it isn't very unique. I found a more unique way to use these tables for your home and also cheaper because
you don't need the table cloth and may not need the glass.
First buy the table. Then buy some craft paint or spray paint in a color that would go with the decor of your room. I purchased black paint so that the tables would match my furniture.
After painting them and letting them dry there are a few more things you can do. You can paint designs or words on the top of the table. You can also paint picture frames on the table and place pictures in the frame you painted. You can also just place a collage of pictures on top of the table. After that place the glass top on your table and you have yourself a nice new end table. You can also choose to not do anything to the top of the table and leave the glass on or off of it. I pondered over my ideas, and in the end I left the top of the table black and just placed the glass top on it.
It came out really nice, and I have received several compliments on it. I have been very happy with my end tables, and if I change the decor in my room all I have to do is re-paint them. One word of caution is to make sure the paint on the table is 100% dry before putting the glass top on otherwise the glass top will get stuck on the table. I hope you enjoy your table/tables as much as I have enjoyed mine.
