Caring For Your Glass Shower Doors

Glass shower doors make a great bathroom accent. It can turn any ordinary and plain-looking bathroom into a classy and inviting one. Glass shower doors combine style and function. These allow more light in and contain shower spray better than shower curtains. These can also effectively prevent water from leaking out of the shower. Moreover, you no longer have to deal with washing and/or replacing shower curtains anymore.

Whether you are the minimalist or the avant-garde type, you can be sure to find the right glass design that will suit your style and needs, with its many different designs. Whether you like a basic or an intricately designed one, glass shower doors can spell a difference to your bathroom. If, however, you cannot find a motif that you particularly like, you can always have your glass shower door custom made instead.

Glass shower doors can spell a difference to any bathroom, whether small or large. You can go for sliding glass showers, bumped glass sheeting, basic frosted glass, frameless, or those with designs with different colors, styles and motifs. However, you need to keep in mind that whatever type of glass door you like, glass safety should always be an important consideration, first and foremost. Glass shower doors can break like a car windshield that can shatter into small and sharp pieces that can be very dangerous.

Once you have already chosen and put up your glass shower door, another thing you need to keep in mind is to take care of it. A squeaky and sparklingly clean glass shower door can instantly make your bathroom inviting and gleaming in beauty. Caring for glass shower doors may vary depending on the style and type. Caring f
or your glass shower door can be very easy to maintain if you make it a part of your regular routine.

To keep your glass shower door sparkling and gleaming, here are some ways that you can try. For one, avoid using bristle brushes or abrasive sponges and cleaners, as they can scratch glass surfaces as well as metal or vinyl components of your shower door. Use a non-abrasive cleaning product for cleaning your glass shower door. Also, avoid letting your cleaners soak on the glass surface for too long as it can damage your shower door as well. There are some products that may take time to work, especially for soap scum. Consider switching to a liquid cleaner, which you can just apply and wipe off, and has better effects on reducing soap build-up.

To avoid soap scum, regularly wipe off the glass after every use. Doing this regularly can help reduce mineral buildup or water stains, thus making overall care for your glass shower doors easier. Thoroughly rinse off after wiping.

Also, another cleaning method that you should do for your glass shower door is to squeegee after you shower. A squeegee is considered a must for your glass shower door, and should always be included in your bathroom cleaning kit. This technique helps to remove excess moisture and prevent water spots from your shower, which may be tough and almost impossible to get rid off. Go for a plastic squeegee instead of a metal one, as a metal squeegee can damage your glass shower door.

Make it a point to clean your glass shower door weekly to keep it clean and sparkling. Doing this can help minimize heavy scrubbing and cleaning.

Having a clean shower door can create a huge difference in your bathroom. It can turn your bathroom into an ultimate escape wherein you can take a retreat and get away from it all.

Yes, I personally clean my glass shower door right after every use. It's been a habit already for so long. A liquid cleaner together with my other cleaning kit helps me to maintain my glass sparkling and gleaming even for many years...

I use a regular glass cleaner on my shower door and it suits me fine. If you are planning of installing glass door on your shower, I recommend those "frost-colored" glass doors rather than those "clear" or "transparent" one. Less hassle in cleaning.

Good explanation for cleaning the glass doors. I have also noticed that if you use warm water to bathe then you flush the shower cold after using it helps to reduce stains as well. Good tips.
